The Process

Inspired by my personal desire to connect with more creatives in Vancouver, I imagined First Verse as a safe and enthusiastic space where creatives can thrive. The process began with naming, which was heavily inspired by the location of this coffee shop, at L'Atelier East Hastings. East Hastings in Vancouver BC is known for many firsts of the lower mainland;

“As Hastings grew, it laid claim to virtually every first for Vancouver: first road, first hotel, first post office, first telephone, first real estate transaction, first subdivision, and even the first ferry between Burrard Inlet and Victoria.” Quoted from the City of Vancouver.

With this understanding of the area, my inspiration for the idea FIRST VERSE came to life. I developed a funky, colourful palette and logo to enhance FIRST VERSE's desire to become a cultural beacon in the heart of East Hastings, BC.

Unique Selling Point

Putting a spotlight on a local artist based in Vancouver BC. Every month FIRST VERSE curates 3 drinks based off of the artists’ song and artist’s personal preference.

At the end of every other month, the monthly artist will perform after hours at the cafe for the local community to support!
